Soumen

Also known as: 索麺, 素麺, そうめん

Very thin, 1.3 mm diameter Noodles served cold in the summer as a popular way to cool down. Their thinness makes them different from the thicker-cut Udon noodles. Soumen that is served in hot soup is called nyumen.
