A catch-all for the Trainers of Umamusume, who serve as coaches and advisors to the various horse girls during their athletic careers.
The player, who can choose to be male or female, enters Tracen Academy as a Rookie Trainer to train Umamusume for the Twinkle Series; in the main story, they take over Team Sirius from their mentor. As the playable Trainer is an unseen self-insert, and some characters' career stories give them contradictory traits, fan depictions of the generic Trainer's design and personality are open to interpretation. Various pieces of Umamusume media feature more fleshed-out Trainers as main characters.
A number of girls have different affectionate nicknames for their Trainer, such as "Traicchi" for Vivlos (Umamusume), "Danna" ("boss") for Inari One (Umamusume), or "Molmot-kun" ("guinea pig") for Agnes Tachyon (Umamusume).
