A sheltered yet demure and friendly aristocrat from the wealthy Satono Group, Satono Diamond (nicknamed Dia-chan by her friends) is one of the main characters of the anime's third season, alongside her lifelong best friend Kitasan Black (Umamusume). Her primary motivation during her arc is to overcome the 'Satono jinx' and become the first member of her family to win a G1 graded race, despite seeming decades of misfortune preventing any Satonos from achieving it.
Fans often draw her with Sega products, which is a reference to the fact that the real horse's owner is Satomi Hajime, chairman of Sega Sammy Holdings, founder and CEO of the Sammy half. Game events suggest that the Satono Group is involved in similar industries in-universe, such as VR experiences and arcade games.
