A dish consisting of filleted Fish or other Seafood minced or ground, mixed with a starchy ingredient - seasonings or herbs are optional, and fried until golden. Usually featured in Asian cuisine, though there is an European variant which is similar to a Croquette.
This tag should only be used when the fish cake in question is identified as neither Kamaboko nor Chikuwa.
Not to be confused with Taiyaki.
