Set in a world where a race of humans, dubbed "mutants", that are born with superhuman abilities that manifest during puberty (sometimes at birth), coexists with normal humans. Due to several mutants exploiting their powers for sinister purposes, the world of X-Men is predominantly ruled by anti-mutant leaders who seeks to exterminate all mutants, along with social discrimination against them not dissimilar to racism.
The franchise centered around the eponymous "X-Men" organization founded by Prof. Charles Francis Xavier, who seeks to unite all benevolent mutants to combat the villianous mutants in hope of creating the world where both humans and mutants can peacefully coexists.
