About Volunteer Army (Russia)

The Russian Volunteer Army was a White movement force in the Russian Civil War (1917–1920), initially formed in Novocherkassk with 3,000–4,000 volunteers. Founded in December 1917 by General Mikhail Alekseyev and General Lavr Kornilov, it fought the Bolsheviks in South Russia, including during the "Ice March" and Kuban Offensive. Anton Denikin took command after Kornilov’s death in 1918, peaking at 40,000 troops in 1919 before its evacuation under Pyotr Wrangel in 1920.

They are recognisable through the Russian tricolour chevron they don on their sleeve.
