A comedy police parody movie trilogy created by Jim Abrahams and brothers David and Jerry Zucker and staring Leslie Nielsen.
Originally began as a comedy tv series, Police Squad which aired in 1982 before being cancelled after six episodes, the Naked Gun movies follow the misadventures of Detective Frank Drebin (Nielsen), a police detective for the LAPD who has a good heart but a bumbling personality, who solves cases and fight bad guys. Other recurring characters in the series includes Jane Spencer (Priscilla Presley) Frank's love interest, Captain Ed Hocken (George Kennedy) Frank's boss, Ted Olson (Ed Williams) a scientist who designs Frank's gadgets and Detective Fred Nordberg, Frank's partner, who is played by O.J. Simpsons before his infamous arrest and acquittal in 1994-1995 for the murder of his ex-wife Nicole Brown and her friend Ron Goldman.
A new Naked Gun movie staring Liam Neeson as Frank Drebin Jr, was released in 2025.
