The main protagonist of the Dragon Ball series. He is married to Chi-Chi (Dragon Ball) and has two sons named Son Gohan and Son Goten.
Goku is a Saiyan born on planet Vegeta and raised on Earth. Capable of several different transformations including Kaiouken, Super Saiyan 1, 2, 3, 4, Super Saiyan God, Super Saiyan Blue and, ultimately, Ultra Instinct.
His Saiyan name is "Kakarot", which is how Vegeta addresses him throughout the anime and manga. Some of his signature techniques are the Kamehameha (Dragon Ball) and the Genki Dama.
He is loosely based on Sun Wukong of the classical Chinese novel Journey To The West, whose name is translated as Son Goku in Japanese.
Goku's Japanese seiyuu is Nozawa Masako, and the current English dub voice actor is Sean Schemmel (though the character has gone through many different dub voice changes in the past). In other languages, Mario Castañeda voices him in the Latin American dub, and in the Tagalog dub, he was voiced by Nesty Ramirez until his retirement from the role in the early 2000s, and the late Jefferson Utanes.
In the early series, he possesses the Power Pole and the Flying Nimbus.
