Doors that are designed to slide open and closed, rather than being controlled by a doorknob.
Japanese homes commonly have paper sliding panels called Shouji and Fusuma. Shouji have a wooden lattice frame while fusuma are flat.
In homes, sliding doors are pulled open with a handle. In businesses such as Convenience Stores or Grocery Stores, they may open automatically.
