In the games, he is the father of the player character, May (Pokemon) or Brendan (Pokemon).
In the anime, he is the husband of Caroline (Pokemon) and father of May (Pokemon) and Max (Pokemon).
In the Pokemon Adventures manga, he is the father of Ruby.
