A QR (Quick Response) code is a matrix barcode readable by QR scanners and Smartphones. The code consists of black squares arranged in a square pattern on a white background. Although in theory anything can be encoded, the most common application is to encode a URL so that anyone with a smartphone can load a website by taking a picture.
