A hand-held light source used in Concerts similar to a Glowstick. Unlike a glowstick, penlights are battery-powered as opposed to being chemically-activated. As such, penlights often have a longer handle area where the battery is stored.
Associated with Idol culture, both in J-pop and K-Pop, where they are often waved at concerts and used to perform Wotagei dances.
