Nodowa (喉輪, lit. throat ring) is a crescent-shaped throat guard, the Japanese analog of a Gorget. It is worn like a bib, tied around the neck to protect the wearer's throat and upper chest.
When the throat guard is attached to the Menpoo, it is called a sage (下げ) or tare (垂).
