SRPG developed by Square as part of the Final Fantasy franchise for the Sony PlayStation 1. Released in June 1997 in Japan, and January 1998 in North America. Later ported to the PlayStation Portable with new features, a revised script for the English release, and new characters and scenarios exclusive to this version, subtitled The War of the Lions.
Received a remaster with an updated script and story, gameplay additions including an easier difficulty and options to increase field visibility, updated graphics, and full voice acting in English and Japanese on September 30, 2025, subtitled The Ivalice Chronicles.
Not to be confused with Final Fantasy Tactics Advance, which features similar gameplay but an entirely unrelated storyline.
