A character from the Star Wars science fiction and Fantasy universe. A Sith Lord that appeared in The Phantom Menace, where he fought Qui-Gon Jinn and Obi-Wan Kenobi.
Assumed dead after his battle with the Jedi, he would reappear in The Clone Wars TV series with new cybernetic legs, along with his first apprentice Savage Opress. He would become a reoccurring background character, appearing in Star Wars as late as Rebels. He would eventually become the main protagonist of his own show, Maul - Shadow Lord, leading his own syndicate called the Shadow Collective.
Maul is a male Zabrak born in the world of Dathomir. Taken in by Palpatine to become a Sith Apprentice as a child. His brutal training combined with constant punishments made Maul a powerful warrior.
He was played in the Phantom Menace by the British actor, stuntman and martial artist Ray Park, while in his extended universe appearances, he would be voiced by Sam Witwer.
