Originally an anime-only character designed by Toriyama Akira, serving as the main antagonist of Dragon Ball Z Movie 8, Broly: Legendary Super Saiyan, and Movie 10, Broly: Second Coming, with a variation of the character, Bio Broly, serving as the antagonist of Movie 11, Bio-Broly. He is the son of Paragus (Dragon Ball Z).
His most identifying visual elements include:
- pre-transformation: the Circlet and Armlets, golden, with the former having a blue Forehead Jewel; medium-to-long black or brown hair
- constant: golden Hoop Earrings, golden Bracers/Vambraces, and the golden Necklace, the latter two having a blue gem embedded in it; White Pants paired with a red robbed material, golden Boots, Topless Male and a Monkey Tail; scars on chest and stomach (only if based on DBZ Movie 10).
- post-transformation: incredibly Muscular body, spiked blonde or green hair, based on scene (Legendary Super Saiyan), No Pupils
Finally appeared in canon form with the release of Movie 20, Dragon Ball Super Broly in late 2018, redone under Toriyama's supervision.
Due to the memetic status of DBZ Movie 8, it is common for artists to redraw scenes or screencaps from the movie with other characters, with the character replacing Broly being manlified into looking like Broly himself.
