Novel written by Tanaka Yoshiki. It was adapted into an anime movie and OVA series during the early 1990s and a 13 volume manga adaptation by Nakamura Chisato on Asuka Fantasy DX magazine from 1991 to 1996. A second manga adaptation by Arakawa Hiromu, began serializing on Bessatsu Shōnen Magazine in July 2013 and is currently ongoing with 24 volumes and was later adapted into an anime series in 2015 with a second season in 2016.
