A monster that appeared in Ultraman (1st Series).
Although it resembles a Stag Beetle in appearance, its behaviour is more akin to that of an Antlion, and it lives hidden away in a Mortar (Bowl)-shaped nest that it digs in the ground.
It possesses the ability to draw opponents towards it using a rainbow-coloured magnetic beam emitted from between its Mandibles.
Because the pronunciation of the name is similar to ‘antler’, it is often used in jokes in combination with Kashima (primarily in Kantai Collection) to create the phrase ‘Kashima Antlers’.
