Aesthetic centered around combining nostalgic imagery with ominous, Surreal or dreamlike elements.
This most often manifests as late 90s/early 2000s nostalgia, with images often looking like they were taken by early digital cameras. These are then edited with text or imagery (eyes, shadows) to unnerve the viewer or imply an unsafe, surreal, or all around "weird" enviorment. Often also incorporates Repetition, elements of computing UI such as Window (Computing)s and Selection Boxes, Fake Transparency, and Mixed Media or Collage (Medium) elements.
Sometimes overlaps with Liminal Spaces and the Backrooms (Creepypasta) in terms of subject matter, but may also overlap with Frutiger Aero or other web aesthetics when evoking nostalgia.
