A Hand Fan designed for use in warfare. Several types of war fans were used by the samurai class of feudal Japan and each had a different look and purpose.
There are three kinds of war fan:
- Gunsen: A Folding Fan used by soldiers to cool themselves off.
- Tessen: A metallic Hand Fan used as a weapon.
- Gunbai: A Hand Fan used by military officers to communicate with their troops, or by Sumo referees.
