Astra Militarum military faction in Warhammer 40K. Hailing from the planet Vostroya, the Firstborn are raised from the collected first-born sons (and now, daughters) of every Vostroyan family, no matter their status. They specialize in urban and winter warfare. The Firstborn are based visually on the real-world Russian Cossacks and the Tsarist Russian Army, as opposed to the Valhallan Ice Warriors, which are based on the Soviet Red Army.
