Also known as the Huey, the UH-1 is a utility Helicopter manufactured by Bell Helicopter Co. and first introduced in 1959 by the United States Air Force. It continues to serve in the armies of several different countries to this day.
Almost all models have a two-bladed main rotor and skid landing gear. Large sliding doors provide access into the cabin for up to 14 soldiers or 1,724 kg (3,800 lbs) of cargo. The UH-1 can be armed with a wide range of weaponry, such as machine guns, rockets, or grenade launchers.
