Strategic Bomber, missile launch platform, and maritime reconnaissance aircraft (NATO reporting name "Bear") built by Tupolev and used extensively during the Cold War for surveillance and targeting duties. A large swept-wing monoplane powered by four powerful turboprop engines driving eight Contra-Rotating Propellers, it is the world's fastest propeller-driven aircraft and expected to remain in service until 2040.
