A small countertop Oven used for toasting like a Toaster and limited baking. This includes both toaster ovens and countertop ovens. Countertop ovens are the common type of oven in Japanese households due to space limitations preventing them from having a free-standing or wall oven unit.
There is some visual similarity between a toaster/countertop oven and a Microwave. Visual differences include placement of a door handles, with oven handles being at the top with door opening downward and microwaves having handles on the side with the door usually opening to the side. Ovens may feature metal racks inside of them, something microwaves can no have in them, while a microwave may have a glass carousel dish inside them to rotate items inside of them for even heating.
