About Spartacus (Tv Series)

Spartacus is an adult historical tv series created by Steven S. DeKnight that aired on Starz on January 22, 2010, and concluded on April 12, 2013. The series tells the fictional story of the Real Life historical figure, Spartacus(played by Andy Whitfield in the first season and Liam McIntyre in later seasons), a Thracian warrior who was enslaved by the Romans, trained to be the greatest Gladiator by Quintus Lentulus Batiatus(John Hannah) and would later led a Gladiator revolt against the Roman republic. The series is famous(or infamous) for it's Profanity, violence, nudity and Sex scenes.

The first season, Spartacus: Blood and Sand, aired in 2010. A prequel, Spartacus: Gods of the Arena, aired in 2011 and was made to give Andy Whitfield time to recover after being diagnosed with stage IV non-Hodgkin lymphoma. The second season, Spartacus: Vengeance, aired in 2012 with Liam McIntyre taking over the role of Spartacus after Whitfield died on September 11, 2011, after his cancer returned. The third and final season, Spartacus: War of the Damned aired in 2012.

The series would later have a sequel, Spartacus: House of Ashur, set in an Alternate Universe where Ashur(Nick E. Tarabay), who originally died in the original series, lives after helping the Romans defeat Spartacus' Army, is rewarded to run his own Gladiator school, which aired from December 5th, 2025 to February 6, 2026. Despite favorable reviews, on May 2026, it was announced the series was cancelled due low viewership.
