The Sierra Madre is the setting of Fallout: New Vegas's DLC Dead Money, and is a legendary city of gold that lures travelers and treasure seekers to engage in a fruitless search for it. It was going to be a lavish resort town, with the main focus being on the casino, but the atomic war froze it in time just before its opening.
