A student that performs housework in exchange for food and lodging. They are better known for their outfits, which consists of a Dress Shirt under a Kimono with Hakama, sometimes with a cap.
Commonly seen in Meiji and Taishou-era images, alongside the military-style school boys outfits and girls in Meiji Schoolgirl Uniforms.
