A 15-year-long manga series by Japanese mangaka Yokoyama Mitsuteru, based on Yoshikawa Eiji's retelling novel of the Romance Of The Three Kingdoms. It was adapted into a 1991-1992 TV anime series by TV Tokyo and Dai Nippon Printing. It is considered as the most popular Three Kingdoms-based story in Japan. The manga ended with the fall of Shu Han.
The series is also known as the origin of countless internet memes. (E.g. ”Wait. Don't be upset. This is Zhuge Liang's trap.”)
