Raiden is a masked "heel" (bad guy) professional wrestler who works under Geese Howard's orders, believing that this will raise his popularity both in and out of the ring. He is merciless and tends to fight dirty, including spraying "poison mist" from his mouth.
In Fatal Fury 2, Raiden removed his masked and changed to his "face" (good guy) persona: the kinder, softer, and cheerful Big Bear.
Both Raiden and Big Bear are inspired by the late Leon Allen White, known by his ring name "Big Van Vader".
