About Pompeo Magno (Azur Lane)

Also known as: ポンペオ・マーニョ(アズールレーン), ポンペオ・マーニョ, 庞培·马格诺

Azur Lane's personification of the Capitani Romani (Roman Captain)-class light cruiser/destroyer Pompeo Magno.

Historically commissioned under the Roman Captain name as a light cruiser in 1943, she was surrendered to the Allies just three months later in the Armistice of Cassibile. Post-war, she and one of her sisters (Giulio Germanico) were retained by the new Italian Navy and underwent a reconstruction program that saw them reclassed as destroyer leaders and refitted with a weapons suite similar to Allen M. Sumner (Azur Lane) and her sisters (namely, three twin 127 mm mounts albeit hers was two mounts aft while Sumner's was two mounts fore). In addition, she was renamed San Giorgio (pennant D562).

Named after the Roman general Pompey the Great.
