A black Crystalline mineral that manifested as a result of the Catastrophes that ravaged the world of Arknights. It is useful as a power source, among other things, but overexposure causes "oripathy", which is the source of the Oripathy Lesion (Arknights)s seen on some characters, and may be fatal if exposed for a long period of time. Commonly depicted as black crystals.
In game, a special form of originium called Originite Prime (Arknights) is used as the premium currency for buying skins and pulling characters from the gacha system.
