A joke, reference, or pairing based on two characters or things having the same or similar names, be it English or Japanese. For example, a Cosplay or Crossover between two characters from different franchises having the same name.
Don't use for characters who share the same name because they're relatives, or for Dual Persona or alternate versions of the same character appearing in different titles. For namesakes based on animals or inanimate objects, use Object Namesake too.

- Futaba Aoi (Vividred Operation) and Aoi Futaba
- Izayoi Sakuya from Touhou as Sakuya (Ookami) from Ookami (Game)
- Saten Ruiko from Toaru Kagaku No Railgun having the power of Saten (Needless) from Needless
- Gilgamesh (Fate) from Fate (Series) and Prussia (Hetalia) ("Gilbert") from Axis Powers Hetalia
- Multiple Alices, some with actual different spellings.
