A hummingway in Final Fantasy IV.
The hummingway are a race of leporine creatures who live on the Moon, in reference to east Asian folklore. Effectively the Moogle replacement of the game.
The 3D Remake (and later the PSP version and Final Fantasy IV: The After Years) changed the hummingway design to closer resemble rabbits, also giving them a closer appearance to Ivalician moogles.
Namingway's role in the 2D versions of the game is to rename the characters (which could not be done upon recruitment). In the 3D versions which utilized voice acting, Namingway goes on a quest for a new occupation. In the 2D versions of FFIV:TAY he becomes Challengingway to run the game's bonus dungeons.
Namingway shares his map sprite with other hummingways in 2D versions of FFIV. His Red Coat Blue Scarf model is unique in the 3D version, and his original FFIV:TAY sprite is based on this. In PSP FFIV:TAY, Namingway wears all red, which is similar to some other hummingway in PSP FFIV.
