He is also known as a successful broodmare sire due to them having great compatibility with Stay Gold (Racehorse). He is the damsire of Dream Journey (Racehorse), Orfevre (Racehorse) and Gold Ship (Racehorse).
His namesake is Steve McQueen, an actor famous in the '60s and the '70s for his many movies involving cars.
