An open-bolt Submachine Gun which was designed by Pierre Monteil and manufactured Manufacture Nationale d'Armes de Tulle (MAT) for use by the French Army, first produced in 1949. The Weapon features a foldable magazine well, a tubular Barrel Shroud and a retractable wire stock. The MAT-49/54 variant has a fixed wooden one.
