A short, unfolded, stand up–style High Collar on a Chinese Shirt, Jacket, or Dress.
The collar derives its name from the Mandarin-speaking bureaucrats in Qing-era China that employed it as part of their uniform. Changpao, Tangzhuang, and Qipaos often feature a mandarin collar.
