Lupus (the Wolf) is a Constellation located in the Southern celestial hemisphere. Its brightest star is Kakkab, also known as Men.
Lupus represents a stick figure of an animal with a triangular head and no tail, as opposed to Canis Major (Constellation), which has a tail. The constellation lies directly to the left of Centaurus (Constellation) and is often interpreted as an animal that has been killed or is about to be killed.
Not to be confused with Lepus (Constellation) (the Hare).
