Chinese hairstyle/headdress worn traditionally by Manchurian women during a period of the Qing Dynasty - namely, through the 19th century.
The hair is wrapped around a long frame known as a <i>bianfang</i> to create a rigid, wingspan-like shape. The hair is then decorated with flowers and hairpins.
