Kizuna AI Inc. (KizunaAI株式会社, Kizuna Ai Co., Ltd.) is an autonomous subsidiary of Tokyo-based digital production company Activ8, producers of Kizuna AI from the start, oriented around her and related talent.
Kizuna's main YouTube channel, named A.I. Channel, debuted November 29, 2016. Following this, a second channel, named A.I.Games, debuted in March 2017 as to concentrate on gaming-related content, together with a unique design for the channel. Kizuna would also spearhead activ8's Project Upd8, with folks joining squarely because of her even.
Starting from May 2019, as part of her 'Kizuna AI's Everyday' series, the Multiple AI Project was introduced, to expand the AIs on the main channel. Of the ones who appeared, two would remain. By December 2019, these two other AIs would receive hairclips and nicknames, as to distinguish them from the main AI, being henceforth known as Love=Charmulet and AI-Pii (Kizuna Ai). In late June 2019, a fourth AI debuted, aimed for Chinese audiences, with a unique design and a new channel, named A.I. Channel China. She too would receive a nickname by December, becoming known as AI-Ge (Kizuna AI).
On April 20, 2020, in a press release, activ8 announced that they would spinning off Kizuna Ai into her own subsidiary, where she would be joined by her fellow AIs, active from May 11. Later, on May 8, it was announced that love-chan and AI-pii would be spinning off into their own channel, debuting on the 13th.
