Keffiyeh (Arabic: كوفية kūfiyyah) is a traditional Middle Eastern square-shaped headdress which is generally worn on the head or around the neck. Can be plain or often features distinct pattern that resemble houndstooth, fringed or not.
If the keffiyeh-like pattern is visible on a Turban, this tag can apply.
There are many different terms to refer to it:
- Arabic: ghutrah (غُترَة), shemagh (شماغ), ḥaṭṭah (حَطّة), mashadah (مَشَدة)
- Kurdish: cemedanî (جه مه داني)
- Persian: chafiye (چَفیِه), dastmal yazdi (دستمال یزدی)

- Covering the whole head and face.
- Palestinian-style keffiyeh with loose fishnet-like pattern, worn like a Scarf.
- Modern, "tactical" keffiyeh with unconventional coloring.
