Tendou Souji is an enigmatic young man who has trained for 7 years in anticipation of the Kabuto Zecter, with which he combats the Worms, monsters feeding on and imitating humans, which came from a meteorite which destroyed Tokyo's Shibuya ward 7 years ago.
Kabuto is patterned after the Japanese rhinoceros beetle ("kabutomushi", trypoxylus dichotomus). He has four forms - the bulky Masked (initial) and the sleek Rider (default) Forms, and the powered-up Hyper Kabuto and its winged Clock-Up Hyper Kabuto Forms. His special ability is Clock-Up, which gives him superspeed.
