Kagami Mochi

Also known as: 鏡餅

A traditional Japanese New Year decoration consisting of two round Mochi (rice cakes), the smaller placed atop the larger, and a daidai (mikan-like fruit) with an attached leaf on top.

Usually placed on top a stand called Sanbou.
