A racehorse in the Japan Racing Association (female thoroughbred, 1990~1997). Also called as the Sand Queen.
In her final race, the 1997 Dubai World Cup, she suffered a fatal fracture in her left hindleg and was euthanized shortly afterwards. Hokuto Vega was the first Japanese racehorse to die at an international race.
