Also known as: ハンナ・バーベラ, ハンナバーベラ
American animation studio named after its founders, William Hanna and Joseph Barbera. Founded in 1957 as the successor to the Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Cartoon Studio. During the studio's history, it was acquired by Taft Broadcasting (later known as Great American Broadcasting) in 1966, later acquired 50% by Turner Broadcasting System and Apollo Global Management in 1991, with Turner buying Apollo's 50% in 1993. Turner would become a subsidiary of Time Warner Inc. in 1996. After William Hanna passed away in 2001, the studio began process of being absorbed into Warner Bros. Animation, and later into Cartoon Network Studios. The characters created would continue to see use to this day (ex. Jellystone!). The studio also had an Austrailian division that was active from 1972 to 1988.
