A Martial Arts action manga and anime series written by Itagaki Keisuke, first serialized in Weekly Shounen Champion in 1991, later spawned several spin-off medias. Best known for its raw, ultraviolent theme and use of exaggerated muscles and facial expressions.
Plot
Born to a wealthy mother Akezawa Emi, Hanma Baki is one of many offspring of Hanma Yujiro, who inseminated women around the world in an attempt to create his "perfect successor". Having endured Yujiro's harsh training to become the "strongest creature on Earth", Baki was soundly defeated by his father in a "graduation" fight, which resulted in his mother Emi being killed by Yujiro for her "weak genes".
Baki's initial admiration of Yujiro turns into hatred and he swore to surpass his monstrous father to avenge his mother. Baki later enters an underground fighting tournament with no rules, facing many of the strongest fighters of various styles, in which Baki seeks to use this brutal combat to hone his prowess in hope of defeating Yujiro one day.
