An English-language anime themed social networking and forum site founded on February 18, 2003 under the original name go-gaia and renamed GaiaOnline.com by its owner Gaia Interactive in 2004. Gaia started out as an anime linklist and eventually grew into a small community, but after a statement by founder Derek Liu, the site shifted to social gaming and eventually became a forum-based site.
