Azur Lane's personification of the Essex-class carrier USS Franklin (CV-13).
Franklin has the dubious honor of suffering the highest loss of life among any US warship that wasn't sunk, and the second-highest loss of life of any USN ship after the Arizona (Azur Lane), due to heavy damage from an enemy dive bomber attack near the end of the war. Along with Bunker Hill (Azur Lane), severely damaged by kamikaze attack, Franklin saw no active-duty service after the end of World War II.
