About Foxglove

Also known as: ジギタリス, キツネノテブクロ, 狐の手袋, 毛地黃, 毛地黄

Digitalis (from the Latin digitus, finger), commonly called foxglove, is a genus of Flowering plants in the family Plantaginaceae. One of the most commonly depicted species of Digitalis is Digitalis purpurea, the common foxglove.

Foxglove produces a tall spike covered with long, tubular or funnel-shaped flowers. The flowers are usually spotted and can be pink, red, yellow, purple, and white. The leaves are oval and cover the stem below the flowers. Many species of foxglove are highly poisonous.
