A type of purpose-built Racecar, also known as a single-seater or open-wheeler. Formula racers are designed to seat a single person with an open cockpit and an open wheel design.
The most prestigious and well known formula racing series is Formula One. Other series include Formula E (worldwide all-electric championship), the IndyCar Series (top series in the United States), and the Super Formula Championship (top series in Japan).
