The FNC (Fabrique Nationale Carabine) is a Belgian 5.56×45mm NATO Assault Rifle, developed in 1976 by FN Herstal. It is derived from the unsuccessful FN CAL. The Weapon's recognizable features are its two-piece stamped metal receiver, a side-Folded Stock a straight, tubular reciprocating charging handle, and a front tubular handguard that does not cover the entire heat shield.
This tag is also applicable to its foreign-produced variants, such as the Indonesian Pindad SS1 and Swedish Ak 5.
